One thing that I love about living abroad is the differences. The culture and being an outsider in any country or culture, you will notice things that sometimes make me wonder, why?

The view of Medellín, Colombia from Communa 13. Communa 13 once the most dangerous area of Colombia, is now completely revitalized and tourist-friendly.

I am always curious and fascinated by other cultures. In this post, I want to talk about three things that I have noticed that Colombians do that are not common in my home country, the USA.

Ketchup is the most common condiment on everything, including pasta.

I notice this when my boyfriend puts it on anything; the other day, he put it on beans that I made. I always joke that if he does not like something I make, he will put ketchup on it, yet that is not the case.

He said he likes ketchup, which is very common here in Colombia. Use ketchup on everything, so do not be offended if someone slathers your food with salsa de tomate.
