A non-toxic way to kill ants in the garden
Experimenting with local recipes
Since I moved to the mountains, the ants and I have been at war.
They are winning.
My garden has a few things doing well, and then the rest get devoured by ants. If it’s not the ants, it is the aphids.
I am close to resorting to poison, a few locals have told me that is what everyone does. They also said that it is not good, but they do because there are so many ants it’s unreal.
Last week my neighbor said there is a white powder (no not that one!!) she uses to help, but I didn’t know the name; I am sure it is borax. I was watching a video about natural ways to kill ants.
Then she also told me another way if I could not find the white powder, there is another way. I was all ears, especially since it involved things I already had.
The question is, will it work?
Super Magic Ant Spray
Two cigarettes
One entire garlic
Empty the tobacco from the cigarettes. Chop the garlic cloves — mix 3 or 4 cups with water — place in a container with a tight lid.
Let ferment outside for eight days.
