Are we too attached to being told what we need that we are missing out on what really matters?
Today I was at a cafe hanging out with fellow travelers.
We began talking, and the theme of the conversations ended up going to social media, AI, and overall the state of how social media is destroying humanity.
Well, that was our general take on things. Then it slowly morphed into how everyone is trying to be a millionaire.
Then there were the three of us, with our sleek backpacker look, thinking about where to go next and the meaning of life, or at least our lives — me, the oldest in the group, and the others in their late 20s.
It is a theme that keeps coming up online and offline, especially for those who earn a living online.
Maybe it is the heat melting my brain to mush, but some days I envy their free spirit and carefree lives. When they run out of money, they go home and work.
Instead, I hustle away from wherever I am; I seem to always be behind some computer, trying not to get into analysis paralysis and my brain on overdrive.
