Can You Live in Colombia for Under $1000 Monthly?
People’s biggest questions when considering moving abroad are: How much does it cost? Can I live off of less than 1k USD per month? In today’s post, we will answer this question.
Colombia was not spared when it came to inflation, especially in the bigger cities. However, I do not live in a big city, and here in the small town of Jericó, we, too, have seen an increase in prices due to what is happening worldwide.
Medellín has been hit harder by price increases for apartment rentals. Some places have doubled or tripled; however, I am unsure if this is due to the influx of foreigners moving in or inflation.
Let’s stay on track; many factors determine how much it costs someone to live: kids, expensive taste, shopping habits, eating out, and types of foods you buy.
So, in this post, I will keep it to the basics because I do not have expensive tastes and live a minimalistic lifestyle. The most expensive thing I own is the house that I have recently purchased, which I see as an investment.
