Cloudy, Peaceful Mornings in The Colombian Countryside
The mornings have been cold, wet, and peaceful; in the early mornings, the rain slowly forms into a cloud that engulfs the valley.
I have just returned from an early morning walk for my demanding puppy. As I sit on the porch in my hammock, he continues to run around the hammock, insisting on more love; after all, he goes for eight hours without one pet.
Sometimes, I can’t believe my selfishness and allow myself to sleep.
After he was satisfied, he allowed me to drink coffee and read. I have made it my goal to improve my Spanish, so I have decided to read in Spanish.
I am a visual learner, so reading and looking up words are the best ways to learn; plus, reading is something that I enjoy.
I read online more than books lately, and when I am ¨reading¨ a book, it’s audible, so technically, listening is not the same as having a physical book in your hands.
I love books, bookstores, libraries, and anything related to books; I am in. So I bought a book about Colombia called Magdalena. I am not very far in, but I am enjoying it.
It is helping me realize how much I know and how much I don’t know.
