Completely agree!!! It annoys the crap out of me to see the "top" writers with like 80-90K followers and never respond! It baffles me how people still follow them.

I respond to every single comment, so much that i often find medium putting a pause on my comments, this week i emailed them 3 times!!

It can be overwhelming but as you say those readers are paying thier bills.. I am so grateful that have been earning money here. I also know how important it is to support other writers.

I have learned a few things here that I never noticed about myself as well, so thank you so much!!!
