Do We Get Married For Love Or Because Society Tells Us We Are Supposed To?

I fell for it, hook line and sinker, then I woke up.

When you fall in love, you always think that it will be forever. We are taught that when you get married, it is meant to last. We take vows that say for richer or poorer for better or worse.

Does that mean when one of you starts becoming abusive, that is just the worse part? You stay and push through? If you are a very conservative person, you are shaking your head yes, of course, that is what you do.

You stand by your life partner.

And who the hell said that this person is your life partner. If someone loves you, they do not abuse you. Abuse in any form is wrong, physical, emotional, or financial.

I will tell you to run away from this abusive person, file for divorce, and never look back. Fuck the standards of “marriage is forever.” This is a lie we are told along with the “you must have children.”
