Do You Know Where Your Food Comes From?

I have been living abroad for so long now that I have forgotten how things here seem normal to me and archaic to others.

First, many ways we do things here are similar to rural, small farming communities worldwide, except in first-world countries, these communities are disappearing. So many do not realize that something that used to be normal, farming, has been replaced with bigger, better, faster _____ (insert what you want).

I have spent half of this month processing coffee by hand, with a manual depulper, cleaning the coffee by hand, and hiring someone to pick the coffee by hand.

Once it dries, I will sell it in town. It is a good year to sell coffee. I know the value of coffee is up right now because a local told me the other day. He was very excited to tell me the price was up.

So that is good news.

Someone made a comment on my video that made me think. They commented that they did not understand how I would make money off coffee…
