Do You Want To Be Told What To Do?

The question is not, do you NEED to be told what to do, but do you WANT to be told?

The Need for Guidance

I work with volunteers, and when they first arrive, they need instructions on what to do. You need instructions and an instruction manual like when you start a new job.

However, at some point, we become accustomed to needing a manual for every aspect of our life.

The Proliferation of Coaches and Experts

We seek out those we think have mastered the art, but have they really? It’s funny because I read an article by Scott-Ryan Abt the other day.

This article was already half-written and ran along the same theme, so his brilliant piece is tagged below. I have a slightly different angle, but he inspired a few additions (thanks!).

Randomly found in my photos

It seems as if everyone nowadays is a coach.

Even this morning, I was researching something because that’s what we do: research or hire someone who has already done the research.
