As a tourist in Colombia, you can stay for a max of 60 calendar days in 1 year.

When you land in Colombia you will only get a visa stamp for 90 days and have to file for an extension online. Or you have to border hop.

Leave the country for a day and come back. Pre-Covid it was very simple, fly to Ecuador visit the Amazon, or the Galapagos and return.

Short, sweet, and cheap flights. Now it is a little more complicated and easier to file for an extension online.

When you file for an extension online they do ask you for a flight out, FYI!

I use this sight, to “reserve” a flight, https://onewayfly.com.

If you are good with your timing you can come in July, stay for 3 months, file for an extension, stay 3 more months.

At this point, you have hit your 6 months, EXCEPT the time resets on January 1st.

At this point, you do need to leave the country, but you can come right back, and repeat this action another 6 months
