Does finding the silver lining of the past two years make me a bad person?
Optimistic yet realistic
Two years ago between March and April, the world came to a halt. Businesses shut down, layoffs became the norm, and those who could do their jobs from home; were sent home to work.
Within this came an even more significant challenge, how to figure out how to work from home, work with your children, partner, and animals at home.
When you are used to one way of life and forced into a new situation, you are in shock initially. Then you make it work. Finally, you settle into a work-from-home routine. The kids adjusted to online learning, and you hopefully made it through in one piece as a family unit.
In April, I was already working remotely since September 2018. It was a massive adjustment for me, but I chose to work remotely. I decided to uproot and change my life. Many of you did not. When the choice is not yours, I always feel that it takes a little longer to adjust, or maybe that is just me.
I don’t particularly appreciate being told what to do, yet I grit my teeth and do what I must.
