Does good old-fashioned hard work pay off even in the creative industry?
Have you ever gone down a rabbit hole on youtube, books, or articles and wanted to get to the bottom of something?
Naturally, you find yourself down an entirely different rabbit hole, and the start of your initial question becomes blurry. Yea, me too. Today is one of those days.
I started my day researching a story, a legend, a myth. I am obsessed with tales of places and want to know everything about what happened. While going down this rabbit hole, I stumbled upon some youtube videos that led me to a question.
A completely different question: will you eventually persevere if you never give up?
This question often comes to me when I find a video I like, but the person is an average person and doing something they love. No unique graphics, no insane production, a guy or girl with a camera telling a story, and they make it work because they are genuine and authentic.
I feel this is the secret sauce to what we all want and are searching for. I can tell you that I liked the bells, whistles, and pizazz for so long, but I too was fooled. I do not have that, nor enjoy it any longer; I have a computer and a story. I have a camera and a story.
