“Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere.” — Mae West

Standing at the computer charting on a patient, a co-worker comes up to me and starts chatting. She says she heard that I was leaving and asked about my plans.

I said I have a one-way ticket to Colombia, an online job starting in a month, and one backpack, and I have sold all of my things. At first, she starts saying how exciting it sounds and how she wishes she could do something like that.

Then she started saying she needed money and didn’t think she could ever do it. It was pretty similar to what everyone said when they heard my plans.

Then she says, oh, you’re going to Colombia first? I said, yea, have you been?

Mind you, I am already nervous about changing my entire life, and just because I had the nuts and bolts worked out didn’t mean I wasn’t scared as hell. At this point, I knew that my flight only cost $20 (I used Airmiles), and if I didn’t get on that plane, I could continue my life…
