Have you ever woken up and just thought I want to go back to bed?

A lesson from a hummingbird.

I felt that way this morning. Instead, I made a ginger/lemon hot tea and came to sit on the porch. It was when all the birds were also waking up, chirping away.

Eating my avocados, today I let them. The other day I explained that they could have the top ones, I can’t reach them anyway, so I guess they should eat them, instead of them rotting.

The cows watch me as I go to pick up the lemons that have fallen on the ground overnight, and most of them I can not use since the bugs have gotten to them, so I throw them to the cows, who are always appreciative. They are now lying in the grass, enjoying the sun’s early morning rays.

As I was letting my thoughts consume me into a ball of anxiety, a hummingbird flew into view. I see hummingbirds in my yard, but I have not seen one recently.

As I sat on the porch, it flew right in front of me, looking right at me. And then passes to the left and the right, then back to the center to stare right at me. I hear the little wings flapping, moving so fast. The bird was as still as it could be, with the wings going as fast as they were. Then the bird flew off.
