Headed On An Adventure To The Magical City Of Jericó, Colombia, Maybe
If the rain allow us
Today we are headed on a mini-vacation. My boyfriend took two weeks off of work, and we will go exploring a little town in Antioquia.
It seems super easy, gets on a bus, change in Medellin, and then 3 hours to our destination. It would be easy if we did not live so remote. It can be challenging to get in and out, mainly due to the weather.
The roads are curvy, and it is “rain” season. The rivers are roaring and full of life, and the streets full of water. On a good day, they are treacherous, and on a rainy day, they are downright scary.
Today we were supposed to walk down the road to the main road and wait for the bus to pass and pick us up. The plan was to leave this morning at 8 am, walk down the road, catch the bus that leaves the town at 8, and go off.
Here it is customary to stand on the main road, wait for the bus, and flag it down. It is very convenient and very annoying. We pick up everyone, which means the bus can take forever to get to the destination. Yet for us, it’s perfect because we live on the route to Medellin.
I am writing this at 8:15, having coffee. It has been raining since 5 am. Not just a light rain that you don’t mind walking in.
