i absolutely agree it is just swapping money! It's insane, I stopped doing gifts years ago. I say do not get me anything I will not get you one. It works, instead i will cook dinner, watch your dog, kid, cat etc.. Or take the kids out to play at dave and busters. I think donating to those in need is a great idea. It's funny, sometimes we forget that all over the world there has been a pandemic of homelessness, struggling to put food on the table even before 2020.
