I am always one to lean on the side of caution.. i did exactly what you are saying for 5 years to save and pay bills, get clear on what i wanted.. I knew my goal.. and just worked.. i wasn't always so clear and made mistakes.. but yes work on eliminating debt, spend as little as possible.. and start saving.. see your job as funding your future... also look to see if you can do a side hustle.. to earn money while on the road.. i wish i started this sooner.. cuz it will take a while to make $$ online, but by the time you want to leave you might make enough to fund your career break!! Like keep writing! document your journey! and do what I did, create Ebooks.. it was soo easy in canva.. you never know!!!
