I forget all these things also.. I walk so much when i am abroad, you are right, in the US walking long distances is not as common. I always walk a ton, and my family thinks i am crazy now.

Oh the plastic in colombia is awful, when i go to the us i think its clean!!!

the food omg, i forget the size of entree's there..

I love seeing your families reactions to the US.. so true too about the yard, my sister even sprays for ticks!! I just think of how toxic it is.
