I have heard a lot of people will put up flags and signs to blend in, its so interesting, but it keeps the peace it sounds like. I also do not hate america, i also do fear for the people. My family is the same they see what is happening and do not want to leave either. Instead they are preparing themselves.

Yes Colombia has a great retirement visa. I have a student visa for the next year which is perfect. I do not have to leave until Aug 2022.

YES so many come here and try to make it their home country it is awful, I avoid those people. It is easy just immerse yourself with locals:) I live in a small rural town it is perfect.

Also if you do the visa, use a lawyer.. the system her is insane and the lawyers are very very reasonable . I used one for my student visa. Super fast and easy. He was great!
