I left the ICU in 2018 and have not looked back. I was a bedside nurse for 15 years. It is the same all over it seems. I was working in the US, and it was horrible when I left. NO one cares about you as a person, as long as you follow orders, dont question anything, and make sure you charting is perfect.

Patient care seems to be the last on the list. We are humans taking care of humans.

I burnt out so bad. I hope it gets better or you find something better!! I don' t think i will even renew my nursing license i will never go back. Great read. It is sad how nursing is burning all the good nurses out.
