i love learning weird random facts, but i don't always remember them!

Random fact- well not so random but you might not know. The town i live in San Carlos. In 1999 guerilla and paramilitary groups invaded and it became a time of La Violencia. Killing most of the residents and the rest fleeing to Medellin, it was then known as a ghost town. A few stayed here, but most did not. Slowly people started returning mid 2000's more specifically 2012 ish. (brief run down)

I think i read somewhere that it won a medal of peace after about 25k residents returned.

Also Colombia is having a presidential election this year, which i have heard some people are worried there may be some unrest. We will see.
