I think dogs are way more fun than a bunch of children!! I am often in my family the only single/childless one.. and get the couch.. but they never make me pay.. so i am grateful and will take the couch.. if i had to pay double because i am single i would be pissed.

It sounds like these friends might not be the best of friends. Sorry you had to be put in that situation.
