Another random encounter

A few hours ago, I decided to take myself out to lunch. Since I have been here in Zugdidi, I have not found a good restaurant or coffee shop. Well, for starters, here, there are not a lot of options for coffee shops. However, I found one today.

The lunch spot was written on the wall at the hostel and rumored to be good; I went, and it was delicious.

Georgian food is amazing!

A man approached me as I sat there listening to my book, which took me years to get through. The man, a local, was drunk. He begins talking to me, and I look at him and say I do not understand you.

Drunk, he decided to speak louder, thinking that would help me understand; when I did not, he tried another approach. Coming closer to my ear and speaking equally as loud, that also did not work.

Anyway, he gives up, points at his friend, puts his two middle fingers together, and says, ¨Da¨, which I know is yes in Russian.

I am thinking not again. At that point, the man gets up, introduces himself, seemingly embarrassed of his drunk friend, and offers me a coffee with broken English.
