It is interesting that Israeli's have that stereotype all over, here too in Latin America. Yet I met a group and have met several who were not like that, just like i have met americans (when traveling solo) who are not like what I expect.
I think i just try to avoid people who i see how they act with others. I would rather befriend those who work at the hostel, than those from my own country.
I know that sounds awful, but i really don't trust how they might act drunk, as i saw this weekend!!
I think i have a lot of critical views of my home country really. I think a lot of the issues in the US comes from in school we are taught "we live in the best nation in the world" and "why go anywhere else, everyone wants to be us" its brainwash. The first time i left the US and realized we are being lied to, my life changed.
On a side note, I love your home country of India, I met some amazing people there.
I try to be open, and warm. I think it is only because I have been and lived in so many different countries.
