Mountain Living
When I woke up this morning, it was cold.
The sun had already risen, but you would never have known. The clouds rolled in, providing a white backdrop instead of the green mountain view.
We have had two weeks of ¨summer¨ I live in the mountains, and with that comes uncertainty about the weather. The short bursts of summer and the nightly rains let us know that we are not in control.
In the mornings, I always think the same thing. I often feel like a creature of the forest or mountains.
As I crawl out of my little house, I enter the world, but my world is mysterious. It is covered in clouds and full of woodland creatures.
They hide as I walk through the woods, unsure if I am friend or foe. They are uncertain if I am one of them or if I will spray poison on their lands and disrupt their ecosystem.
I assure them I will protect the lands where the fairy creatures live, as I, too, live there.
