My immediate family (sisters/brothers) we are pretty much the same.. but i have one family member we don't discuss things, she can never see both sides, and refuses to bend i don't talk to her about anything but the weather. She disagrees with about everything, including my lifestyle.

Yet when my family gets too one sided, i chime in with a real life fact that i have seen and they listen and at least see my side..Since i might be the only one who sits on the fence and can see both sides, and i at least can bring a more world wide perspective. Yet with that said, we don't really argue in general, yet just laugh at the world, and try to do our best.
