Overwhelm, Coffee, and Answered Prayers

The coffee season has arrived.

Views from my balcony.

Last week, I began to feel overwhelmed as I walked through my coffee trees. I was picking coffee the other day when I realized all the trees were ready to be picked, and I began to think, “How am I going to pick all of this coffee? How can I find people to help me?”

As I walked the dogs, I said a little prayer, asking for answers to come to me and for the powers that be to send a little help. The next day, I was working in the garden.

I have my property split up into sections:

  • The garden/compost area (homesteading area).
  • The future animal pens.
  • The coffee trees (which make up 70% of my property).
Part of the homesteading area, a disaster at the moment.

While in my homesteading area, someone called me to return to the house. I walked up the hill and saw two random strangers here, with bright yellow shirts, a husband and wife.

They introduced themselves as members of the Colombian Coffee Federation. They were with one of the neighbors we were hiring to build a fence for my runaway dog.
