Sometimes the answer, ¨because that’s the way it is¨, will have to be good enough

Colombian Mountains

As I travel around the world, there is a common theme with tourists, travelers, and nomads. Everyone has an opinion about the country you are in, whether you ask for it or not.

I travel to mostly underdeveloped countries once the term third world was used, so most of these countries are very laid back and relaxed; they do not have the mindset of ¨must make money¨ ¨must save money¨ ¨must only think about money¨.

Usually, money is the last thing on their minds; they want to make enough to live, feed their families, and pay their bills; that is all, not everyone, of course, but the majority.

With that said, many things are not perfect in these countries, honestly when you come here you should be aware that it is not like your home country, isn’t that why you travel? To see a new way of living, a new culture, and not criticize their culture for not being like yours.

When I was living in Colombia, I would meet plenty of tourists, and they would complain about virtually everything, the bus, the food, the noise, the lifestyle, and I would say, ¨thats just the way it is¨. Because what are you gaining by complaining about something?

Yea, I know in your country it works better; I know in your country you have it all…
