Taking breaks and enjoying life is more critical than ¨making it¨

Yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to go up the mountain.

Surrounded by mountains.

You might be thinking, Sara don’t you live on top of a mountain? Yes, I do; however, there is an even more giant mountain behind me. Here in Colombia, it is hilly and mountainous.

You can live on top of one and still have many surrounding you, as we do. So we ventured into the jungle to see what we could discover. As we walked up a narrow path, my first thought was snakes; I’m not too fond of snakes. However, we recently found one in our house, so I am vigilant.

The dogs were running like crazy so that they would have scared anything off. So we kept going, up and up and up. It made me realize that I should start running again because I felt I might collapse at any minute. It also got me thinking. The mountain became a metaphor for my life.

I told my boyfriend this is incredible; it is like the mountain never ends. We get to a little lookout area, and we appear to be at the top of a mini mountain, but the path continues going up when you look ahead.

Like in life, you meet a milestone, you think you have made it, and as soon as you turn around, the mountain continues going up. The question is, are you going to keep climbing, or are you
