When I decided to travel the world, my biggest fear was running out of money or not having enough money. We all have fears, and mine was that if I ran out of money, I would end up on the streets in a foreign land and destitute.

Very dramatic.

It has been over six years, and this has not happened. Yet, when you grow up in a Western country, you are instilled from a young age that you need a certain amount of money to survive.

So when I decided to travel, I ensured I had a safety blanket: a remote job.

I had a backup plan: a nursing license. Another backup plan was a work-away (volunteer) membership. I worked, volunteered, and traveled around the world, sometimes burning the candle at both ends, which left me burned out.

I am here to de-mystify the myth of needing a lot of money to travel the world.
