The simple pleasure of being grateful for bananas

In my kitchen.

I have been reading a lot today. I have noticed a theme of gratitude. I think it is something that I have been neglecting lately.

My once-daily prayer and gratitude practice has fallen off. It happens. One week I am so on point, and I am so off the next one to two.

Yet this is the power of reading and the power of the medium community.

What I needed today was showing up over and over.

So as I walked barefoot in the grass. I decided to lay down and chill in the grass under the tree.

I am grateful that I have a yard to step in and that the sun is shining. I am also thankful that I have over 50 bananas nourishing me this week.

I have loved banana’s my whole life. They always remind me of my grandmother, who raised me.

She would always say, “gotta get my potassium in,” and would eat a banana a day and encourage the rest of us to.

No matter where I move or travel, I have my banana a day and think of her. She was one of those grandmothers who was soft and cuddly, and everyone loved her.

So as I eat my bananas and look up at the sky, I like to think she is smiling down on me, and I hope she has plenty of bananas.
