When does hospitality cross the line to perversion?

And the saga continues

I have lived for the past two years in Colombia. When I get asked about safety and the men, I say I use common sense, and you will be fine.

The men will catcall you, flirt with you, talk to you; they will never touch you ( in my experience). Everything I write is based on my personal experiences, as everyone has their own experiences. This is mine.

They might ask for your number and want to hang out but do not touch, hug, grab, kiss, or force themselves upon you. I am saying this because Colombia has a stereotype of being a macho society, and I will not deny that is a very true stereotype.

However, they know their lines and, in my experience, do not cross boundaries, especially if you set them very clearly. They know, does that mean they won’t try? Of course, they will try and text you and invite you out. That is just how it is.

However, I can deal, I like to be flirted with, and I have never felt a creepy vibe; a man sits next to me on a bus and wants to talk, and we talk. He never touches me and respects that I want nothing more. However, if you are on the coast, they may be more aggressive; I do not know; that is not where I have lived.
