Have you ever taken a bus in Colombia? If you have answered yes, did you white knuckle it the entire way, or did you say a little prayer like all the Colombians do when they get on a bus?

For those of you who have yet to take a bus in Colombia, let me give you a little introduction.

When I first started coming to Colombia back in 2018, actually my first South American country. It was a love-hate relationship. When I first arrived, every taxi driver told me, ¨tranquila¨, as I was anxious, grabbing whatever I could in the cab or Uber.

After that, the bus was no different, I was a mess, and then I settled into life, so to speak. Let go of what I can not control.

After hiking for over 2 hours we arrived!

I can choose not to take the bus or a taxi. I can choose to walk or to fly. I still every time choose a bus, for lots of reasons. Today as the little ¨mini van¨ of a bus was speeding around and crossing, cars left and write, even on the…
