Why Are Nurses Shamed And Told They Went Into Nursing Just For The Money

Being a nurse is not a career for the faint of heart, nor is it a career you can go into “just for the money.” It will never make you rich.

Well, I should tell you that people do go into nursing for the wrong reasons all of the time, yet once you start working in the hospital is when the real test will come.

I was in nursing school with a girl, and she told me she wanted to be a nurse because she wanted to marry a doctor. I was shocked; there have to be better ways to marry a doctor, plus who wants to marry a doctor who is already married, to their job.

I have dated many of them, and it is not something I care to repeat. She did not marry a doctor and ended up as a Trauma ICU nurse, and let me tell you, that is not a career you choose if you do not love the field of nursing.

If you are an adrenaline “junkie,” working in a Trauma ICU or ER is the perfect place for you. Especially if you are in the trauma rooms, and the nurses know if you can handle the trauma rooms, you are not…
