When someone says they have been “nomadic” or living abroad for this long, the first question I would NOT ask them is, “so when are you coming back home?”.
The question is much different than when you will come to visit us, “ya bum.” Since I return to the US yearly to visit friends and family, my plan was never to disappear from life as I knew it.
It was to live differently, live my way, and figure out what life is all about, like a science experiment. What are the pros of one vs. the other?
