I live in Colombia. A country associated with cocaine, narcos, guerrilla warfare, Pablo Escobar, and sex tourism. Yep, and I have never encountered any of this while living or visiting this country.

When I decided to make it a permanent move, this last trip was my 3rd visit here. I have spent almost a year exploring this beautiful country. For those of you thinking, well, maybe I haven’t been there long enough or explored enough of Colombia.

Cali, Colombia

Yet the locals will always tell you to be safe. Why is this, well if you visit my home country of the USA I will tell you to be safe. I am not going to lie; when I visit the states, I feel more endangered going to a mall or riding public transportation than wandering around solo in Colombia.

Why? Since this country is always high in the Orange or Red zone for visiting. Where is the US on this list lets find out, shall we?
