Why I enjoy writing and challenging myself by broadening my horizons

A few weeks ago, I decided to branch out and practice different writing styles and explore new types of content. My background is not writing, and I am teaching myself, which is always my favorite way to learn.

I started writing here on Medium. I share personal stories and whatever pops into my head as I stare at a blank screen. I sometimes have an idea of what I want to write; others magically come to me as my fingers begin typing. I might enjoy writing because I enjoy typing.

I am old enough to remember taking typing class in high school and have always liked that I can type fast without looking at the typewriter, now the keyboard.

To this day, I still write and see how long I can go without looking down; it’s like a game. Also, my mind works fast, and my fingers must keep up. So how does this lead to me branching out?

I wanted to figure out if I could write about things that are not related to me. As if you have interacted with me in the comments, you will notice I might have commented something to the effect of I am glad you enjoy my diary here, because I write what I feel and when.
