yep.. great read.I get my feathers all worked up everytime i run into expats in Medellin.. we are going to be looking for an apt soon close to the city.. i wont even show my face because they will try to jack up the price or i will be silent so no one knows im a gringa. even tho i live like a local we have gotten such a bad rap of spending a lot of money cuz its ¨cheap¨those of us who live minimally and with locals get fucked. I know when the students at the school talk about how cheap colombia is.. and my bf is around it upsets him.. it is shitty when this is the reputation that most foreigners get because so many cant just enjoy what they have. I understand my priviledge, honor and respect it and show the same respect to the culture i have immersed into.
