Hola!

I grew up in the country, but I lived in the city as soon as I entered the working world.

My first job was in Boston; I lived in Back Bay. I had a brief stay with a friend in North Carolina, but only a few months, on a golf course, very posh. Then I moved to Los Angeles. One of the biggest cities in the US, and there is where I stayed until four years ago.

So you could say I was a city girl.

So living in the country, in a new country, I have made had a few adjustments. Things that we do here that you would NEVER do in the city. The vibe of country living is more relaxed, you know your neighbors, and they WANT to know you.

I will speak only about Colombia.

It is common for everyone to stop you and talk to you on the road. Whenever I walk Eris, if certain people see me, they will stop and chat with me. Plus, Colombians like to talk, especially if you are not from here; they want to “know me.” Check me out, and I am sure I intrigue them why I want to live here.

One guy always comments on how I am always enjoying the “earth” he sees us walking every day, and if he is out on his moto, we chat.
